Holy Week Schedule 2026

This year's Holy Week is packed with events, including our special retreat titled 'Jesus, Saviour of the World' and a musical meditation on the Stations of the Cross performed by St. Antony's Choir.

Palm Sunday, 29th March:

6.30pm Saturday (Vigil), 8.30am, 10am, 12 noon, 3pm (Spanish), 7.30pm

At 12 Noon Mass only:

Mass begins with the procession from the Friary Lawn.

1.45pm: Bible Study Biblical Introduction to Holy Week with Fr.JJ and the Bible Study team in St Francis Hall


Monday, 30th March:

Morning Masses at 7.45am, 10am

6pm: Ecumenical Stations of the Cross with the churches of Forest Gate

7pm: Retreat Talk


Tuesday, 31st March:

Morning Masses at 7.45am, 10am​​

7pm: Retreat Talk


Wednesday, 1st April:

Morning Mass at 7.45am only, No 10am Mass

7pm: Retreat Talk


Holy Thursday, 2nd April:

No morning Masses

8pm: Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Procession to the Altar of Repose​, Prayer vigil overnight


Good Friday, 3rd April:

No Masses

10am: Children’s Way of the Cross

12 Noon: Walk of Witness (from Wanstead Flats to Ursuline Convent)

2.15pm: Musical meditation on the Stations of the Cross: The Iniquity of Us All

3pm: Office of the Passion (followed by Confessions)

5.30pm: Office of the Passion in Spanish

7.30pm: Stations of the Cross (followed by Confessions)

8.30pm: Office of Tenebrae


Holy Saturday, 4th April:

9am to 12pm: Confessions

11am: Rehearsal for catechumens

12pm: Polish blessing of food

4pm: Tamil Mass

8pm: Easter Vigil


Easter Sunday, 5th April:

6.30pm Saturday (Vigil), 8.30am, 10am, 12 noon, 3pm (Spanish), 7.30pm
